A scientifically proven treatment that stimulates blood flow to the scalp, promoting hair growth by strengthening hair follicles with nutrients and oxygen.
We offer a unique formulation without alcohol or propylene glycol to reduce irritation of the scalp.
Effective in 2/3rds of men. Apply twice daily.
Our Minoxidil solution relaxes and widens the muscle walls of blood vessels, and when applied to the scalp, increases blood flow to the hair follicles. The enhanced blood flow provides much needed nutrients and oxygen to the hair follicles, promoting hair growth. Studies have shown that Minoxidil is effective at combating hair loss for 2 out of 3 men.
What is Minoxidil?
Minoxidil is a topical solution applied to the scalp that is medically approved and clinically proven to treat male pattern baldness. Man Behind the Mirror offers a 5% solution which is considered the most effective to treat male pattern baldness. Minoxidil increases blood flow to hair follicles which serves to slow hair loss and stimulate hair growth.
How do I use Minoxidil?
Approximately 1 ml of Minoxidil solution should be applied directly to the scalp twice per day, preferably morning and evening. Part your hair in the area of thinning and apply the solution evenly to the affected area of the scalp. Gently rub in. Ensure that your scalp area is clean and dry before application. There is no requirement to wash your hair before use. Please allow for the solution to dry before using other styling products (e.g. gels, mousse) or before going to bed.
Does Minoxidil work on a receding hairline?
Minoxidil has been shown to be most effective at the top of the scalp and on the crown. There is no detailed scientific research on how Minoxidil works on the hairline. You should consider Minoxidil as a treatment with potential benefits for strengthening hair on your hairline, rather than as a guaranteed way to regrow your hairline.
What is the recommended dose of Minoxidil?
Clinicians recommend applying 1 ml of Minoxidil solution to the affected areas of the scalp twice per day, once in the morning and once at night.
How soon can I expect to see the results with Minoxidil?
Normal hair grows approximately 1.25 cm per month, so hair regrowth with Minoxidil also takes time. You may need to use Minoxidil twice a day for up to 3 months before you see results.
What happens if I stop taking Minoxidil?
You need to continue taking Minoxidil daily to maintain the hair that you have retained and that has regrown. If you stop taking Minoxidil you are likely to lose the results you have achieved within 9 to 12 months.
What are the potential side effects of Minoxidil?
Like all medicine Minoxidil can cause side effects. The most common side effect is at the scalp where the application is made and relates to itching and skin irritation. This is attributed to alcohol and propylene glycol which are ingredients in significantly all Minoxidil solutions. Note our unique formulation does not contain alcohol nor propylene glycol which reduces the likelihood of these side effects. In any event, you should be aware of the potential side effects before taking this treatment. Please read the patient leaflet before taking Minoxidil.
