This one-two combination is highly effective at combating hair loss derived from male pattern baldness.
For Finasteride (1mg) take one tablet per day. Apply our unique Minoxidil solution (6%) twice daily.
At Man Behind The Mirror we are scientifically driven and results led.
That’s why we sell the only two medically approved treatments that are clinically proven to prevent hair loss and aide hair regrowth.
Finasteride is a tablet which should be taken once daily. Minoxidil is a topical spray that is applied to the scalp twice daily.
What is Finasteride?
Finasteride is a prescription medicine commonly used to treat male pattern baldness. It is currently the most effective hair loss medication available. The medicine works by decreasing the amount of a natural body hormone known as DHT. Decreasing the amount of DHT leads to increased hair growth and slower hair loss. Hair growth on other parts of the body is not affected by finasteride.
Studies have shown that most men who took Finasteride consistently experienced a reduction in hair loss within 12 months. In clinical trials, 85% of men stopped their hair loss from progressing and 65% experienced some level of hair re-growth. Because of this high success rate, Finasteride is the leading prescription drug for treating male pattern hair loss.
What is Minoxidil?
Minoxidil is another medically proved treatment for male pattern baldness. When applied to the scalp, Minoxidil relaxes the muscle walls of the blood vessels near the hair follicles, increasing blood flow. The blood flow provides much needed nutrients and oxygen to the hair follicles, promoting hair growth. Studies have shown it to be effective at re-growing hair for 2 out of 3 men.
Can Finasteride and Minoxidil be used in combination?
Yes, both treatments are complementary as they work in different ways and target different parts of your scalp. Together they can be used for maximum effect. If you are suffering from hereditary hair loss, this one-two combination is commonly prescribed as it has been shown to be more effective than just taking each of the treatments individually.
How effective is your Finasteride and Minoxidil Plan?
Our Finasteride and Minoxidil Plan is effective at preventing hair loss for 90% of men suffering from male pattern baldness.
In clinical trials, both Finasteride and Minoxidil have proven to be effective at not just stopping hair loss, but re-growing hair that has already been lost.
In a 1998 study from the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, men using Finasteride achieved an average increase of 15% in hair density on the scalp.
Trials with Minoxidil have shown similarly impressive results. In a four month study, three quarters of men judged that their hair density increased, with over 90% of the participants rating Minoxidil as very effective, effective or moderately effective at stimulating hair growth.
How soon can I expect to see results?
As male pattern baldness develops over a long period of time, it makes sense that hair regrowth takes time too. It depends on the individual, but as a base case you should expect to see a reduction in hair loss and an increase hair density within 3 months.
Both Finasteride and Minoxidil must be taken continuously to maintain the hair you have kept and re-grown. If you stop taking the treatments, the results you have achieved are generally lost within 12 months.
Are there any side effects?
Like all medicine, Finasteride and Minoxidil can cause side effects. Clinical trials have shown that side effects are uncommon and affect only a small percentage of men. Side effects that some men experienced when taking Finasteride included sexual dysfunction. The most common side effect for Minoxidil is at the scalp where the application is made and relates to itching and skin irritation.
Note the Minoxidil solution offered by Man Behind the Mirror does not contain alcohol nor propylene glycol which reduces the likelihood of these side effects. In any event, you should be aware of the potential side effects of both Finasteride and Minoxidil before taking these treatments. Please read the relevant patient information leaflet before consumption.
